What is Fairtrade?

Use this blog to discover what fairtrade is. Hopefully with all the information you and your classmates have learned, you will be able to discover what you can do to help children and families who are forced to work in terrible conditions and for very little money.

How do I use this blog?

This blog includes many instructions. If you read and listen to the instructions carefully you will have no problems!

 Introduction

Look at the top of the page, under the fairtrade title and picture, where you will see the following tabs: Home, Introduction, Activity one, Activity two, Activity three and Final Activity.
Click on the 'Introduction' tab, read the small passage of information on fairtrade and then click on the 'play' button to watch the video entitled 'A fair story'.

Activity 1

In your pairs and groups you will then move on to Activity one. Follow the instructions at the top of the Glogster. To view the Glogster on a full screen click on the four arrows at the top right hand corner of the image. You will then do a project on locating fairtrade foods around the world. You will find your project description on the left hand side of this page.

Activity 2

You will then move on to activity two where you will find written and audio instructions. To hear these instructions click on the chocolate bars and to watch the youtube video, simply click the 'play' button. You can also make a video full screen by clicking the symbol in the right hand corner of the video.

Activity 3

Go to Activity three. Here you will see a popplet. To enlarge this popplet click on the four arrows on the bottom right hand corner of the popplet box. Again listen to the instructions given by the 'cotton' character and watch the youtube video by clicking the 'play' button. To create your own popplet click on the words 'Create your own popplet'. This will bring you to the website where you can create your own popplet.

Final Whole-Class Activity

Finally go to the last tab entitled 'Final Whole-Class Activity . Read the book which has been created based on some of the information you learned throughout your activities. Create your own story book based on what you have learned from this blog by clicking on the link 'www.zooburst.com' where you will be brought to the zoo burst website to make your own story.

Now lets get started! Remember to ask your teacher if you have any problems!
